A Final Lesson from Metamorphosis

Some time after the two videos on metamorphosis (numbers 8 and 9.) were produced, a further detail was revealed by another researcher:

When enough of the imaginal cells have grown together to clearly represent the butterfly, the rest of the caterpillar turns fluid and flows into the butterfly's form.

When I tell this story, I speculate that this is like when we have clearly described the possibility of a sustainable future and demonstrated its characteristics. At that point, the vast wealth and know-how of our societies will flow out of the old caterpillar's form and into the new world that will sustain future generations. We are starting to see this with emergy investment, moving from fossil fuels to renewables. May that trend expand and spread to every aspect of human endevours.
